Whether it is a protest organized through social networks and SMS or web videos of presidential candidates, the tremendous impact of the social web on politics is hard to ignore. Pulsepolitics is a social media and politics journal that covers and analyzes instances where social media is changing the way politics work.

Our Team:

Andres Barreto
Is an entrepreneur with a background in user experience design and social media marketing. He studies political science at the University of Florida and co-founded Grooveshark.com, an online music sharing community. He is currently in the process of launching other tech startups. His research focuses on how social media affects politics and possible economic development in third world countries through entrepreneurship and ICT innovation.

Greg Markowski
Greg is a PhD candidate at the University of Florida where he also teaches Latin American Politics. Aside from social media and politics, he does research on indigenous social movements in Latin America.
